Dear Sequoyah Parents:
We are looking forward to seeing our students next week, school starts Monday, August 24. Our plan includes students attending in-person classes one day a week during an initial orientation phase as follows: Freshmen on Mondays, Sophomores on Tuesday, Juniors on Wednesdays and Seniors on Thursdays. Fridays will be reserved for students or parents needing specific services by appointment only.
There are some misconceptions about virtual education and we want to make sure that you have information. All Sequoyah High School students will need to be available to log on to their assigned classes during the hours of 8 am-3:25 pm each school day. We have a new learning management system that will track when students log in. This is how we will track attendance and participation. Teachers may also require daily Zoom meetings. Each student needs to be available during school hours to receive the best instruction possible.
If your student has not signed a virtual contract to be a full time virtual student and does not attend school next week, we will assume you have chosen to attend another school. Please let us know ASAP, we will be calling additional students to fill your spot.
Sequoyah is the “School of Choice” and we want our students to have the best possible education and an authentic relationship with our wonderful faculty. We are working hard at making this online transition as easy as we can for our students.
Please call the school if we can help you further.
