We are deeply saddened to share the news of the sudden passing of one of our Sequoyah High School family members, Elvina Thompson, a dedicated math teacher who made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Elvina will be remembered for her passion for education, kindness, and the positive influence she had on everyone around her. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, students, and all who were touched by her life and work.

🎶 The Pride of Sequoyah Shines in Beggs! 🎶 On Saturday, October 11th, The Pride of Sequoyah traveled to Beggs, OK for the Beggs Invitational Marching Competition and they brought home some serious hardware! 🏆🔥 💥 Prelims Results: 🥈 2nd Place – Class 3A Black 🥁 1st Place – Class 3A Percussion The band advanced to the Finals, competing against powerhouse 2A, 3A, and 4A schools some with over 100 members and proudly finished 5th Overall! 🌟👏 An incredible day showcasing the talent, dedication, and heart of our Sequoyah musicians and performers! 🎺🥁 #PrideOfSequoyah

It’s a best-of-three series; the first two games will be played Wednesday, October 9th at 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM at home.
If needed, the “if game” will be played Thursday, October 10th at 12:00 PM.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Congratulations to our Sequoyah Cross Country Team!

This weekend, the Indians competed at the 37th Annual Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, AR, hosted by the University of Arkansas!

🌟 Girls ran their first 5K of the season — in a race featuring 417 runners!
🔥 Boys placed 4th out of 48 teams with 635 total runners!

🏅 Ogana Swimmer won the boys open 5K race with a time of 15:49, remaining undefeated this season!
🎖️ Evan Nofire also medaled, finishing 4th with a strong 16:48!

👏 Incredible effort by all our runners, your hard work and dedication continue to make Sequoyah proud!

Next up ➡️ The final race of the regular season at Haskell University in Lawrence, KS on Saturday, October 11th.
