It’s back!!! Sequoyah Schools will host 8th Grade Day on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 8:30-11:30 am in The Place Where They Play (new gym). Students who attend will receive a tour of the campus, information about courses, extracurricular activities, etc., and an enrollment application. Admission requirements to attend Sequoyah Schools are 1) Membership in a federally-recognized tribe, and; 2) A minimum GPA of 2.25 (GPA is calculated using all of 7th & 8th Grade grades through December). Applications are scored on an admissions rubric in the following areas: attendance, behavior, completed application, and application submitted by deadline. Both JV 🏀 games this afternoon/evening at Keys will start at 4:30 – girls in main gym, boys in new practice gym. Varsity games are still at 6:00 & 7:30. Keys has added a 2nd entrance near 🏈 parking, but visitors are asked to continue entering through the old entrance (through the front of the main building & cafeteria).

Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for next week and will be virtual this time. Conferences will be Thursday evening, February 3rd, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM and Friday morning, February 4th, 2022 from 8:00-11:00 AM. Please contact your child's teachers to schedule a zoom meeting or a phone call. You can also contact through emails.

WRESTLING SCHEDULE CHANGES: The dual scheduled for tomorrow, Tues., 1/25, vs. Gore, will be in the old gym at 6:00. It was originally scheduled for 5:00 in the new gym. The dual scheduled for Tues., Feb. 1, vs. Lincoln Christian, has also been moved to the old gym.

Congrats to SHS 9th grade powerlifters for placing 2nd @ Ft. Gibson today. 🥈🏋‍♂️👏👏👏 Josiah Foreman 1st, Sonny Kahbeah 2nd, Newton Martin 3rd.

Jay 🏀 Tourn: SHS boys & girls battled hard today, but came up short. Girls lost by 1 in double OT. Boys play tomorrow at 11:30 v. East Newton/Kansas loser. Girls play tomorrow at 1:00 v. loser of Grove/Metro Christian.

We were just informed that the boys 🏀 game tonight will be on the Inola athletics YouTube site https://youtube.com/channel/UC9ik2RH0lKc7JL8DLRdCM7Q. Might be able to catch the girls game there too.

SHS robotics had another big day today at the Nowata Tournament. Blake Washington, Chris Pantle, & Gabe Miller took 1st place & won the judges award. Krista Myres & Caleb Wofford placed 2nd. Congratulations!

REMINDER: No school next Monday, Jan. 17.
